Light signals for locks
A lock signal light is a device that uses lights to indicate the status of the lock and navigation conditions to boats. It is often located on one side or both sides of the lock, near the lock chamber.
There are three colors used in lock signal lights : green when the lock gate is open or red when it’s closed.
In addition to the colors of the light, the device can incorporate a flashing red light to indicate that the lock is under repair or closed due to danger.
A highly visible and durable light
This light consists of three 200 mm diameter lenses : two red and one green. Each light has 95 LEDs.
The red and green lights are 24 or 230V. An optional orange flashing light can be added.
They are visible day and night, even in conditions of reduced visibility.
The lights are mounted on a triangular aluminum panel measuring 800 x 800 mm (or other dimensions on request). The visors are made of polycarbonate or aluminum.
How it works
A lock signal light is usually controlled by an electrical system. A sensor located on the lock gate detects its status and transmits the information to the signal light. The signal light then turns up according to the status of the gate.
Lock signal lights with LED are the most efficient because they consume less energy and have a longer lifespan than other types of bulbs.
