Lock signal light : role and function
On waterways, signal lights play a vital role in ensuring the safety and smooth flow of river traffic. Lock lights inform users of the operating status of a lock and the rules to follow when entering it.
Installed near the lock chambers, these devices use a simple and universal color code:
- Green: the lock is open, navigation is permitted
- Red: passage is prohibited, the lock is closed
- Red and green lit simultaneously: the operation is in progress, please wait
In certain specific situations, additional lights may be used, such as a flashing red light to indicate a temporary shutdown or ongoing maintenance.
Expertise in waterways signaling
TRAFIC designs and manufactures signaling equipment for waterways, including lock lights and related systems. All our products are assembled in our workshop according to strict quality standards.
The lock light model offered is equipped with three 200 mm diameter LED modules: two red and one green, each containing 95 to 200 LEDs. The triangular design of the aluminum housing ensures excellent visibility. Variations are available to meet the specific standards of each canal, both in terms of the number and arrangement of the lights.
