Light signaling for trams
Light signals, particularly traffic lights, play a crucial role in traffic management and safety on tram networks. As trams often operate in urban areas where they share the road with other modes of transport (cars, pedestrians, buses, etc.), adequate signaling is essential to prevent accidents and ensure smooth transport.
The tramway signal light with the symbol “1500” refers to an indicator used in certain rail or tramway systems to signal a specific electrical voltage of 1500 volts.
It is used to indicate the type of voltage used on the line, as trams or trains can operate at different electrical voltages (750 V, 1500 V, 3000 V…), and it is essential to know the voltage involved for safety reasons. Indeed, a voltage of 1500 V DC is high and requires specific precautions to prevent electrocution and accidents.
Custom-made lights manufactured in our workshop
At TRAFIC, we design and manufacture custom-made tram traffic lights according to your specifications.
You can choose:
- the diameter of the light: 200 mm or 300 mm
- the symbol: 1500, 750, etc.
- the color of the LEDs: orange, green, red, purple, blue, or white
- the power supply: 12V, 24V, or 230V
For example, you will find voltage presence lights, direction lights, and switch signal lights.
Mounting and power supply
This light consists of a housing and a black polycarbonate visor. It is mounted using two adjustable and orientable brackets. If necessary, the front panel can be opened by removing the four screws.
It can be powered by 12V, 24V, or 230V. The cable outlet is located at the bottom bracket. We also offer customized lights to meet the specific needs of each tramway network and can design custom signals on request.
