What is the purpose of a two-color light in tramway signaling ?
This two-color light with a double “T” symbol is a signal indicating that the tramway may proceed. This signal is used on lines with dual-mode operation (tramway + bus). It informs the driver whether or not they are authorized to pass the signal.
It allows tram movements to be managed independently of road vehicles and avoids conflicts at intersections. Depending on which light is on, it can signal a complete stop or permission to pass the signal.
